The welcome received at the Greg Norman designed 18-hole Laguna Bintan Golf Club is second to none, with all your needs being catered for with little fuss or ceremony. Set in 60 hectares of a tropical jungle it offers pure inspiration for aspiring and seasoned golfers alike. It lets nature define the course winding through the diverse terrains of forestlands, natural wetlands, beachfront coconut groves and an abandoned quarry.
The memorable signature holes come towards the end of the first nine. Numbers 7 and 8 are framed by the South China Sea welcoming you with a refreshing sea breeze. The spectacular par five 7th drives off past boulders to a tight and sloping fairway, a good drive will offer the chance to hit the green in 2 – however if your 2nd is too long it may end up in the sea. On the next relish the view while deciding on which club to use to successfully cross the sea past the rocks towards the 8th green – a daunting task if off the black tee (160 meters) when the sea breeze is against you.The greens can be fast & treacherous at times so practice your putting and chipping skills on either of the two practice greens beforehand if you want to score well.
